They believe that it can lead - peachofheart - 04-04-2023

While some Muslims consider music to be permissible or even recommended, others view it as haram or forbidden. In this essay, we will explore the arguments against music in Islam, and examine the various opinions and interpretations on the subject. The Prohibition of Music in Islam Those who argue that music is haram in Islam base their opinions on several sources, including the Quran, the Hadith (sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad), and the writings of Islamic scholars throughout history.

The Quran does not explicitly forbid music, but some scholars interpret certain verses as suggesting that it is haram. For example, in Surah Al-Isra, Allah warns against following the "whims and desires" of the devil, who is said to use music to distract people from the remembrance of God. Similarly, in Surah peachofheart Luqman, believers are advised to avoid "idle talk and falsehood" and to instead spend their time in remembrance of God. Some hadith also suggest that music is haram. Prophet Muhammad is reported to have said: "There will be among my Ummah (community) people who will regard as permissible adultery, silk, alcohol, and musical instruments."

Some scholars interpret this hadith to mean that music is forbidden, along with other vices. In addition to these sources, some Islamic scholars throughout history have argued against music. Some of their arguments include: Music is distracting and can lead people away from God. Some scholars argue that music is a form of entertainment that can distract people from their religious obligations.  people to engage in sinful behavior, such as dancing or drinking alcohol, and can cause them to forget the remembrance of God. Music is associated with sinful behavior. Some scholars argue that music is often associated with sinful behavior, such as drinking alcohol or engaging in illicit sexual activity.
